“He was in the Academy” Cheng Zhaoci really wasn’t expecting that, mainly because he doesn’t look at all disciplined, like one might expect someone hailing from such a background.

“Yes.

He was already on the list to become a shemale soldier before he took revenge on his father and male brother.

The rest is history,” Wei Zhuo is walking back with Cheng Zhaoci, “I’ve heard he wasn’t like this in personality a long time ago, too.

Apparently, he was severely wounded in the head during a chase, and after that, he was almost like a different person.”

Jin Yue is seven years older than Wei Zhuo, but they were once an ace student and a young grade S shemale, and so they already knew each other.

Jin Yue used to be a goody-two-shoes who didn’t really smile.

He had a poker face, but he was also a good insectoid.

He would answer everyone’s questions when they needed help.

And with his slightly uncommon golden hair and pure gold vertical pupil combination, there were a few males openly interested in him.

This continued after he has taken revenge.

He became quite more withdrawn and ireful.

He still didn’t talk much or smile, and became quite gloomy.

And then, once, when he escaped from certain death during some big explosion, he was gravely injured but not dead.

No one thought he would make it out alive, and one of his men in Golden Lion tried to usurp his position.

In the end of that power struggle, the subordinate died, and Jin Yue won back his throne.

He also turned into this weirdo after that.

Bombastic, always guffawing, but the smile belies quite the nasty beast inside.

His original calculating nature was nowhere to be found, and he seemed to have no regard for his own safety at all anymore.

Recall that he hid an active bomb in his mouth to escape prison the last time.

Would there be any sane insectoid who would try to hide that in their mouth

“He’s very dangerous,” Wei Zhuo says, “I apologise for failing to ensure your safety.”

“No, of course not.

You’re not to blame.

I met him in the past, but I forgot to tell you,” then Cheng Zhaoci thinks about it, “do you think he would begrudge me for slapping him on the back of the head”

“… You slapped him”

“Yes, I was desperate to leave, and he looked stunned, so I slapped him on the head when I left,” and it was pretty effective, apparently.

He only chased out after him after some time.

“It’s probably fine,” if Jin Yue was pissed about that at all, he would have done something regardless of the possibility of the military sortieing for him.

Wei Zhuo is still looking closely at Cheng Zhaoci.

He felt an intense fear during the call from Cheng Zhaoci, even overpowering his anger at Jin Yue.

The fear and anxiety is still lingering right now.

Something in his blood is threatening to boil over.

If that mad Jin Yue actually did something to Cheng Zhaoci…

Wei Zhuo might decide to go after Golden Lion immediately, by himself, ignoring all that bull** like ‘orders’ or ‘duty.’ He’ll tear that insane Jin Yue apart, limb by limb, and throw him out into space as space junk.

He can probably expect to then die to the onslaught and chaos of the pirates there, never to return.

Though if Cheng Zhaoci really were no more… He thinks death is a sweeter release than spending centuries in a monochrome, colourless life.

He’s already spent twenty-odd years in a trance, and finally, he dug up this big treasure on the landfill planet.

His life finally had colour.

Every day was interesting.

He could fall asleep hopeful for a better day.

Then, what if, one day, that baby was destroyed

He would rather no one live anymore.

It’s not like he would ever find meaning in life again.

As a mature and experienced shemale soldier, Wei Zhuo, of course, knows exactly what his thoughts are suggesting.

Before he knew it – or, rather, he knew it was happening as it happened.

He could clearly feel Cheng Zhaoci occupying more and more of his thoughts, filling every nook and cranny.

Wei Zhuo does not know what exactly Cheng Zhaoci is to him, but he knows he is very important, important enough to overrule the principles Wei Zhuo has set and holds dear in his heart.

“As long as he doesn’t make any more trouble.

It was quite the satisfying slap,” Cheng Zhaoci is smiling happily.

If he could, he would rather pummel Jin Yue into the dirt, but too bad about his physical strength.

“Though, honestly, without the Squadron Leader, I am nothing.

Jin Yue looks like he’s pretty wary of you,” Cheng Zhaoci says, turning his head around, and realises that Wei Zhuo is blanking out looking at him, “what’s wrong”

“It, it’s nothing,” he just can’t help but feel like the young male’s smile is so pretty.

It is enough to chase away the worries he still had in his mind.

And an idea strikes him, the shemale soldier who wouldn’t know romance if it was presented to him in a bouquet, “can, can I take a photograph with you” He wants to save it to his holodeck.

Make it a wallpaper.

“Sure, of course,” Cheng Zhaoci happily obliges, then remembers suddenly, that he actually hasn’t properly taken a group photo with Wei Zhuo.

They didn’t take time finding a good, photogenic spot.

They just stood side by side, and took one by looking at the camera of the holodeck.

As for the result… Wei Zhuo took it, so it didn’t look that nice.

Cheng Zhaoci is smiling fiendishly like some antagonist… probably thanks to his features.

Wei Zhuo’s completely lack of technique probably helped.

Wei Zhuo himself is smiling, but it is… akin to a child being dragged on a trip by the parents, who asked them to smile for a photo op.

That kind of fake, unconvincing smile.

Cheng Zhaoci thinks the very occasional smile Wei Zhuo shows is beaming, sharp and brilliant.

This time, he’s clearly just nervous while taking the photo.

He is trying to deliberately smile, but he had no such experience.

Wei Zhuo seems to like the photo, though.

Cheng Zhaoci watches as Wei Zhuo discreetly sets the photo as the background of his holodeck, then asks, “want to take another one”

There really wasn’t any serenity or romance in that photo.

In short, it was basically a ‘pervert kidnaps innocent passerby, taking a photo to threaten the passerby’s family, and also asking the passerby to smile during the photo.’

Obviously, Cheng Zhaoci is the ‘pervert,’ Wei Zhuo is the passerby; not that that was too likely either, given their physical sizes.

“I’m thankful, so I would not impose on you anymore,” Wei Zhuo thinks he is being very understanding.

It is already an honour Mr Cheng Zhaoci would take a photo with him.

He can’t possibly ask for more.

Clearly, he has failed to realise that the photograph was taken quite poorly.

“Ah, ok,” Cheng Zhaoci can see that Wei Zhuo is zooming the background image in some more.

Oh, he’s zooming it on his face.

O…k.

It’s… oddly embarrassing, but he also feels a little happy.

It has helped take his mind off yet another incident of running into Jin Yue for sure.

“So have you eaten yet, Mr Cheng” Wei Zhuo suddenly asks as he puts the holodeck back on his wrist carefully.

“Not yet,” Jin Yue ordered a whole table of food, but Cheng Zhaoci was clearly not in the mood to gorge on feasts unaffected in the middle of a kidnapping.

“What would you like” Wei Zhuo asks, “I’ll cook for you.”

“You can cook!” Cheng Zhaoci is astonished, but then he thinks about it, and concludes that it’s probably the job of the shemales to cook given the state of the males in this world.

Wei Zhuo seems quite nervous, worried Cheng Zhaoci might not agree to come.

It is slightly inappropriate to invite an unwed male to his home, in fact.

Though he’s also too worried to take him to another restaurant.

Of course, it’s paranoia if he is worried that there might be a few more pirates hanging around in restaurants on the Capital planet, but for some reason, Wei Zhuo doesn’t like the idea of Cheng Zhaoci eating outside food very much right now.

He also has the odd feeling that Cheng Zhaoci would keep running into strange insectoids for better or worse outside.

Meanwhile, Cheng Zhaoci is only all too happy to be able to visit Wei Zhuo’s regular home, of course.

It’s called ‘seizing the opportunity.’
