It is the fifth day, and we are making a good time; we have left the camp an hour after midnight by morning, made a good time toward our destination, and wouldnt have any problem reaching the fifth mid-point by six or even before that.

It is eight and a half in the morning, and we have begun to slow down our fast pace as the sun begins to burn over us.

We have constantly walking for the past four days, but despite that, the sun still felt like hell, and I wanted to just stop, but that was not going to happen.

If I really wanted to stay, I should have stayed in the safe zone.

Though I am saying I wanted to stop, and I really do, I will not, even if things get harder than they already are, especially now when I have already finished more than half of the challenge.

There are less than three days remaining; I will bear it.

Another few minutes passed when I suddenly stopped; I began to feel danger, and it intensified by the second.

Seeing me suddenly stop, Rachel became alert instantly and began to look around.

We did not need to talk to know what was happening; our movements were enough for that, and Rachel knew I only stopped suddenly when I sensed the danger.

“I could not see any Grimm around,” she said a couple of seconds later, “I am also not seeing any either, but the feeling of danger is getting intense by the seconds,” I said with a deep frown appearing on my face.

I already have my sword in my hand and Racheal her bow, but the enemy is giving me the feeling is nowhere to be seen.

Hun!

A few more seconds passed when suddenly my eyes went wide with shock, and I sensed the enemy coming from the direction I had expected; it was not that sensed it but my clone, examing the data it had gotten from my senses.

“Jump!”

I shouted as just as my clone informed me; Rachel followed me without any question, and both of us jumped high, despite having a big weight on our back.

Bang!

We had just reached up when sand below our feet burst out, and sandworm burst out bearing its that would have a grind in the paste in the matter of second.

“Sand Worm,” I shouted from the air; it was a sandworm without a doubt; I have fought too many of them to not recognize them within a second.

It had really caught me by surprise; I did not think this ruin would have it and revealed it after four days.

This place is already dangerous enough, and now with the sandworm, it has become even more dangerous.

Sup!

The enemy was surprising, but we reacted instantly; as the head of the sandworm came out completely, Rachel nocked the arrow and released it on its head, one of the two most fatal areas of the sandwork.

Puch!

With the distance between us and the sandworm, the arrows had reached it instantly and pierced its head, which froze it for a moment.

“Ehhhhhh….”

It let out a weird scream of pain which felt jarring to the ears, but I had no time to worry about it as I fell down toward it, with the weighted backpack made the fall even faster, but it was going to be useful for what I am going to do next.

My sword slashed at it before burrowing deep inside, even before I landed on its head.

I used the weight and weight of my backpack to burrow my sword deeper inside it.

Thud Thud!

We landed on the ground, and at the same moment, Rachel released another arrow in its head before jumping down, but I did not follow suit; instead, I used one hand as support against the flailing monster while using the other hand to remove the spear from my backpack.

Puch!

I removed the spear and pierced it inside the skull of the flailing monster, sending it much deeper into the skull of the monster than my sword.

For a moment, I had expected it to die, but it did not and instead began to flail even strongly.

If it were not for the support of the sword and spear, I would have had sent flying by this monster.

Puch!

“Target its heart!” I shouted at Rachel, who had just landed, and again aimed at the sandworm while I began to take out the spear while holding on to the sword, which I have to say was quite a struggle.

Puch Puch Puch!

Rachel targeted the heart as it came out further while I also brought down my spear into its skull again, making it let out another loud scream as Rachel fired another arrow at its heart.

Thud!

Suddenly, it tried to roll, and seeing that, I jumped out, taking my spear with me.

The first thing I did after landing on the ground was discard my backpack before running toward it with my spear.

We have been very lucky with our first strike; we have targeted its integral part.

Though it had not killed it, it had made me mad enough that it forgot to burrow back inside the sand, which is one of the frustrating things about the sandworm.

They could burrow back into the sand and attack, which is why it is always great to finish it off in a single attack, not giving it a chance for a second attack.

Given soundlessly, it could move through the earth, it is very hard to discover it without the powerful senses, especially when they attack for the first time; that is when they are most dangerous.

Puch Puch Puch

Soon, I reached it and pierced my spear inside it, driving down the spear completely inside before bringing it back and piercing it inside it while avoiding getting crushed by its huge size, which turned out of quite big, slighter bigger than even Grimms.

Rachel had also brought down arrows after arrows on the bastard; in these two days, we were able to increse the number of arrows in her arsenal, making it twelve, which she is throwing at one after another.

For nearly a minute, it felt like our attacks were not doing anything before the monster began to slow down, which gave us big hope, and we intensified the attack even further that Rachel had used all her arrows which she seldom does, given the abilities of Grimm popping at places you least expected.

She always keeps three as backup, but now she has used it all, and even then, the monster is not completely killed, just slowed down.

Puch Puch Puch

Losing her arrows did not make her useless; she took the pike hanging in her backpack and began attacking its heart while I attacked its skull.

We had to keep attacking for more than minutes, avoiding getting crushed by it tens of times before we finally stopped; it had also stopped, making barely any movement.

“You have made quite an art on its skull,” said Rachel as saw the sheer number of attacks I have done on its skull.

“You have not done a bad job yourself,” I said as I looked at the pieces of its heart spilling out from the holes she had made on it.
